Bacon goes Turkey

Istanbul and Edirne

Istanbul was fantastic as always, amazing food (hello, pistachio kebabs) and relaxing. Grey weather cleared to sunny skies and I made sure to make the most of the sparkling Bosphorus, jumping on a boat to enjoy the water and weather, to visit the Beylerbeyi palace on the other side of the Bosphorus, as well as a park back on the Western side popular with locals for relaxing and wedding pics. I also travelled out to the city of Edirne for one night, near Greece, to see the amazing Selimiye mosque. This mosque is the one of the great architectural feats by the Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan, the architect of the famous Blue Mosque in Istanbul. Selimiye did not fail to impress, such a spectacular sight with gorgeous minarets.
